Where we go

Areas We Cover

We are based in Yeovil and cover the towns and villages around it across South Somerset and into north Dorset — from a two-mile hop to Stoford to a run up to Wincanton or out to Chard. If you are within a reasonable distance of Yeovil, the answer is almost always yes.

Taxi service across South Somerset

Most of our work is within about fifteen miles of Yeovil, which covers the market towns, the railway stations people actually use, and the villages that have no realistic bus service after teatime. We also do the longer runs — airports, hospitals further afield, and journeys anywhere in the UK at a fixed price.

Tap a town below to see the towns with their own page, or just call 073 88 33 40 08 and ask. Distances are approximate road distances from Yeovil town centre.

Towns we serve

Sherborne — about 6 miles

Straight down the A30 and one of our busiest runs. Sherborne station sits on the Exeter to London Waterloo line, so we do a lot of station pick-ups here, plus abbey and school traffic. Sherborne has its own page with route detail and FAQs.

Castle Cary — about 12 miles

Castle Cary station is on the Paddington main line, which makes it the practical choice for London journeys and the reason we run so many transfers there. It is also the Glastonbury Festival station, so late June gets busy — book well ahead that week.

Crewkerne — about 10 miles

Crewkerne station is a fair walk out of the town itself, which is exactly why people book a taxi rather than chance it with luggage. We also cover the surrounding villages including Misterton, Merriott and Hinton St George.

Ilchester — about 5 miles

Just off the A303 and next to RNAS Yeovilton. Quick to reach and a common pick-up for people heading to or from the air station and the surrounding villages.

Martock and South Petherton — about 7 to 9 miles

Two of the larger villages west of Yeovil, both with limited evening bus services. Regular work here is hospital appointments, station runs and getting home after a night out.

Somerton — about 10 miles

North-west of Yeovil, an old market town with no station of its own, so journeys tend to start or end at Castle Cary or Yeovil Junction.

Wincanton — about 14 miles

North-east, near the A303. Racecourse traffic aside, this is mostly longer local journeys and connections to Castle Cary station.

Milborne Port and Evershot — about 8 to 10 miles

East towards Sherborne and south into Dorset respectively. Both are the kind of village where a pre-booked taxi is genuinely the only way to make an early train.

Chard — about 17 miles

The furthest of our regular towns, south-west of Yeovil. Worth pre-booking, particularly for airport runs and early starts.

Villages close to Yeovil

Barwick, Stoford, East Coker, Montacute and Mudford are all within a few miles of the town centre and we cover them constantly — school runs, shopping trips, station transfers and hospital appointments. Short journeys are just as welcome as long ones.

Not listed? Just ask

This list is where we go most often, not a boundary. If your pick-up or drop-off is not named here, call 073 88 33 40 08 or message us on WhatsApp and ask — there is a good chance we cover it, and if we genuinely cannot help we will say so rather than waste your time.

For journeys further afield, including airport transfers and cross-country trips, we quote a fixed price before you travel. See our fares page for how that works.
