Terms & Conditions
Last updated:
These terms apply when you book a journey with Excel Taxi Yeovil, whether you book by phone, text, WhatsApp, email or through the form on our website.
Booking a journey
A booking is confirmed once we have acknowledged it by phone, text or message. Submitting the online form is a request for a taxi, not a confirmed booking — we will come back to you to confirm. For airport transfers, early-morning starts and other time-critical journeys, please book in advance so a driver can be assigned to you.
Please give us an accurate pick-up address, destination and time. If details change, tell us as early as you can so we can adjust.
Fares and payment
Most journeys are quoted at a fixed price agreed with you before you travel. That price is based on the distance, the time of day and the size of vehicle needed. Once agreed, the fare does not change because of traffic or the route taken.
If the journey changes materially — a different destination, extra stops, extra passengers requiring a larger vehicle — the fare may be re-quoted. We will tell you before the journey continues.
We accept cash, credit and debit cards, and contactless payments including Apple Pay and Google Pay. Payment is due at the end of the journey unless we have agreed otherwise in advance.
Waiting time
We allow a reasonable period of free waiting time at pick-up. For airport arrivals we track your flight and adjust the pick-up time, so a delayed landing does not cost you extra. Beyond the free period, waiting may be charged.
Cancellations and no-shows
You can cancel a booking by calling or messaging us. Please give as much notice as you can, particularly for airport runs where a driver has been held for you. A cancellation made at very short notice, or a no-show at the pick-up point, may be charged.
Passengers and luggage
Please tell us how many passengers are travelling and what luggage you have when you book, so we send a vehicle with enough room. The number of passengers carried cannot exceed the vehicle's licensed seating capacity, and the driver may decline to carry more.
Children must be carried in accordance with UK law. If you need a child seat, tell us when you book.
Luggage is carried at your own risk. Please check the vehicle before you leave — we cannot accept responsibility for items left behind, though we will always do our best to return them.
Conduct in the vehicle
Smoking and vaping are not permitted in our vehicles, as required by law. Seat belts must be worn. Drivers may refuse to start or continue a journey where a passenger is behaving in a way that is unsafe, abusive or puts the driver or other passengers at risk.
If a vehicle is soiled and has to be taken off the road for cleaning, a cleaning charge may apply.
Delays and liability
We plan journeys with sensible time buffers and we take punctuality seriously. We cannot, however, accept liability for delays caused by circumstances outside our control — traffic incidents, road closures, severe weather or vehicle breakdown. If you are travelling to catch a flight or train, please allow a realistic margin and tell us the check-in time so we can plan backwards from it.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Licensing and insurance
We operate as a licensed private hire company. Our drivers are licensed and our vehicles are insured for private hire use and maintained to the standard required by our licensing authority.
Complaints
If something goes wrong, please tell us. Call 073 88 33 40 08 or email jenson@exceltaxiyeovil.com and we will look into it. We would far rather hear from you directly than read about it later.
General
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. We may update them from time to time; the version published here at the time of your booking is the one that applies.
